We collect only what the service needs to run: your name, e-mail, your two retirement dates, and the choices you make inside the app. We do not sell your personal information, and we never see your full card number.
This Privacy Policy explains what information The Final Watch collects, why we collect it, how we use and protect it, and the choices you have. The Final Watch is a web-based retirement-planning application operated by BT Ventures LLC (“we,” “us,” “our”). By creating an account or using the service, you agree to the practices described here.
1. Who we are
The Final Watch is an independent product operated by BT Ventures LLC. It is a planning and organizational tool for service members preparing to retire or separate. It is not affiliated with, sponsored by, or endorsed by the U.S. Department of the Navy, the U.S. Department of Defense, or the U.S. Government. 2. Information we collect
We collect only the information needed to run the service. When you create an account and use The Final Watch, we collect:
- Name — to identify your account and personalize your checklist.
- E-mail address — to create and secure your account, send service-related messages, and communicate with you.
- Sex — used to tailor certain retirement- and benefits-related checklist content where it is relevant.
- Retirement and/or leave dates — your projected retirement date and terminal leave date, which anchor your personalized retirement timeline and countdown.
- Officer or enlisted status — used to tailor rank-relevant checklist content and guidance.
- Free-text comments — any notes you choose to enter within the app.
In addition, as you use The Final Watch we generate and store your progress — your completion status against the retirement checklist — so your place is saved. We also automatically receive limited technical information (such as basic log and device/browser data) that our hosting and infrastructure providers generate to operate and secure the service.
Payment card details: we do not collect or store your full payment card number. Payments are processed by Stripe; see Section 4.
3. How we use your information
We use the information above to:
- Create, secure, and maintain your account.
- Generate and display your personalized retirement timeline, countdown, and checklist.
- Provide the printable/exportable planning materials included with your plan.
- Process your subscription or one-time purchase and any refund.
- Send you service-related messages (for example, account, billing, and security notices).
- Respond to your requests and provide support.
- Operate, maintain, secure, and improve the service, and comply with law.
We do not sell your personal information.
4. Service providers who process data for us
We rely on a small number of trusted third-party providers to run the service. They process data on our behalf and are permitted to use it only to provide their services to us:
- Supabase — our backend, database, and authentication provider (US-hosted); stores your account data and checklist information.
- Stripe — our payment processor; handles subscription and one-time payments. Your card details are provided directly to Stripe and are governed by Stripe’s privacy policy. We receive limited billing confirmation data, not your full card number.
- FlutterFlow — the application platform that hosts and serves the web app.
- Resend — our transactional e-mail provider; delivers account, billing, and security messages such as password resets and trial-expiry notices. It processes your name and e-mail address for that purpose.
- Netlify — hosts thefinalwatch.co and processes anything you submit through a form on this website.
- Microsoft 365 — hosts our support and correspondence mailboxes, including support@thefinalwatch.co.
5. How long we keep your information
We keep your information for as long as your account is active and as needed to provide the service, then for any additional period required to meet legal, tax, accounting, or dispute-resolution obligations. You may ask us to delete your account and associated data as described in Section 7.
6. How we protect your information
We use reasonable administrative and technical measures, and rely on the security controls of our infrastructure providers (including Supabase and Stripe), to protect your information. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.
7. Your choices and rights
You can review and update your account information within the app, and you can request access to, correction of, or deletion of your personal information by contacting us at support@thefinalwatch.co. Depending on where you live, you may have additional rights under applicable privacy laws.
8. Age requirement / children’s privacy
The Final Watch is intended for users who are 18 years of age or older. It is not directed to, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from, anyone under the age of 18. If you believe someone under 18 has provided us with personal information, please contact us at support@thefinalwatch.co and we will delete it.
9. Changes to this policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we make material changes, we will update the effective date above and, where appropriate, notify you within the service.
